Adolescent Empowerment &
Ending Child Marriage in India
Repository showcasing interventions & best practices
UNICEF has been implementing Adolescent Empowerment (AE) and Ending Child Marriage (ECM) programmes across Indian states. We have five key interventions in this area: Education - both in and out of school, Social protection, Adolescents as agents of change, Community engagement and mobilisation and Linkages to skills and employment. The AE and ECM programmes in India are complex and multi-levelled. They are at the critical juncture of expanding or being due for expansion in the coming years. Thus, engagement through programme partners and the administration at state, district and block levels can be used for state and national level scale-up programming and implementation, to inform similar initiatives in the South Asia region and globally.
This repository showcases a range of knowledge and advocacy products around the interventions including advocacy briefs, process documents, advocacy films and infographics. National and state-level knowledge products and stories of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Champions of Change are available for users. We hope to engage with practitioners to strengthen adolescent-focused programming in India!
